Agnishtoma Somayagam

The Agnistoma Somayagam will begin at the bank of holy krishna river in beechupally of newly formed Gadwal district on January 23 and will conclude on January 28. This Somayag is being organized jointly by Shrauta Samvardhini Sabha and Sri Anjaneya Brahmana Nityannadan Satram, Bichupally in the presence of various well-known shrauta vidwan scholars.

‘Yajaman’ (Host) for this somayagam is Nityagnihotri couple Bhrahmasri Madgula Bhavani Shashibhushan Sharma from Hyderabad.
‘Adhvaryu’ – Brahmasri Keshav Avadhani from Matturu (Karnataka).
‘Brahma’ – Brahmasri Madgula Manikya Jyotiraptoryamayaji from Pattlur.
‘Hota’ – Brahmasri Satri Prabhakar Joglekar from Ratnagiri (Maharashtra).
‘Udgata’ – Brahmasri Shridhar Joshi from Bidar (Karnataka).
‘Yaaga Paryavekshak’ – Brahmasri Narendra Kapre from Hyderabad.

The Yaga is aimed for the prosperity of all living beings in nature. Visiting the Yagasala is considered a blessing equal to doing hundred good deeds. Associating with the Yagam will be equivalent to doing one lakh good deeds. Contributing for the yagam and annadanam is considered sacred and brings abundant blessing for the individual.
